bonjour !I am Louise, a New Zealand born multidisciplinary artist living in Annecy in France, with my husband & our girls. My studio is based in my tiny home that is nestled in the hills of La Clusaz ski resort in the Aravis mountains range. With a sweeping valley view & surrounded by the majestic mountains that inspire me each day.
I work with mixed media, & a whole lot of love. I am inspired by nature, my inner world, personal experiences, senses & emotions. I'm always looking for moments to create, these happy hours can pass by in a flash & always leave me yearning for my next creative session. I paint to satisfy a need deep emotional inside to create, to use my hands to express, with beautiful colours & brush strokes, something that my words cannot, part of mon cœur ends up in each & every creation. x Louise |

WHAT DO I CREATE?
I create artwork for your heart & for your home. Abstract landscapes on canvas or paper or wooden board using mixed mediums & a whole lot of love. |
WHAT INSPIRES ME?
My inspiration comes from the majestic, imposing mountains that surround me, I can feel them lifting me up & demanding that I explore, that I journey, that I get lost in their nature & raw beauty, & that I keep reaching higher to achieve my goals. I will often include these mountains in my landscapes, I feel they represent so much & speak to so many of us in their own unique way. |
WHAT DOES MY ART CONVEY?
My goal is to convey the same inspiration and beauty I feel from the mountains to my collectors, offering a moment, a pause & a feeling of deep connectedness.. |
WHY DO I CREATE? this is a biggie
to process, uplift & beautify
I create to process my emotions and to turn them into something physical, something positive and beautiful no matter how they started out, be it negative and painful or happy and full of love. If I can help someone feel even a tiny bit of this happiness, this calm acceptance, through my art, then I feel like it's time well spent On a more basic level I also create to beautify my home with art, to transform a space into one where I feel serene and at peace, a space that I just love to 'be' in, I am thrilled to be able to offer the opportunity of beautifying homes everywhere in the same way.. My artworks have been created with love over time, time learning, time researching, time practicing, time creating, and I am so happy to be able to share them. From my coeur/heart to yours. |
wonderful therapy
We never stop feeling and processing feelings. I love the moment that I stop thinking about what I'm creating and instinct and emotions just take over, the moment that the planning flies out the window. For me it's therapeutic. It's replenishing. It brings happiness and joy to my being. It gets me through any hard times that come my way. It boosts my mood and gives me a wonderful feeling of accomplishment. Creating also helps me feel balanced and less anxious. In short all of the good 'feels'. |
fulfillment
I create to heal or balance, to share or transform my emotions, and perhaps those of my audience, if I can in any small way. When I am creating I feel in harmony with the world and with myself. Creating also makes me feel like I am in some way useful to others on a larger scale and it makes me feel a profound sense of pride in myself and how I am evolving and growing as an artist. Creating brings me a deep sense of fulfillment when I connect with others through my creations. |
connection
I like to imagine my creations bringing the same positive emotions and positive experiences to the viewer/collector as they do to me, the same healing, a little happiness and inspiration, a little beauty to walls everywhere... I imagine it transporting the viewer to a time, or a place, or to a memory... and being overcome by a warm feeling, a sense of joy, of calm or delight, of positivity. I want to leave the viewer feeling a deep connection to my artwork and a yearning to bring one of my creations home with them to enjoy, adding that little something extra to their space and being able to get lost in how good it makes them feel, with just a glance, on a daily basis. |
